Take Me Back

Published January 16, 2012 by largemargeuk

When the night is long and I’m
deep in my thoughts
about loss, and love
and memories.
And the dreams that I had
of a life we could share
are my truest and closest
Worst enemies.
I go looking for a time before
I ever heard your voice
and I find it, in a
dim, still, quiet place.
If only there was a way
that time could take me back
to a time before I ever
saw your face.

But I will go on, and
no one will know,
I am stronger that you
think I might be.
There’ll be another,
and another
who knows? Maybe true love
was not meant for me.
So I’ll make the most
of the chance that I have
to live happy and run
my own race.
And no more wish for time
to take me back somehow,
I’ve already forgotten
your face.
